Funding is available to landowners in Waterdown and Hamilton's Ward 1 for the implementation of rainwater conservation projects on their properties. Through a grant from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change - Canada-Ontario Agreement, landowners may be eligible for up to $2,500 and 50% of the cost of implementing a Low Impact Development project. Eligible projects include rain gardens, bioswales (landscaping that works to remove silt and other impurities from surface run-off), soakaway pits, permeable pavement or concrete and other projects that conserve water such as infiltration trenches.
